Kentwood prepares for annual summer kickoff celebration

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — This weekend, visitors to the lawn outside Kentwood City Hall can attend the annual Kickoff to Summer Celebration and enjoy live music, art vendors, food trucks and more.

“Our team is ready to celebrate the start of another beautiful Michigan summer,” Val Romeo, director of Kentwood Parks and Recreation, said in a statement.

East Grand Rapids Farmers Market opens for summer season

Beginning at noon Saturday, kids at the Kickoff to Summer Celebration can also participate in a variety of activities — like face painting, foam parties, an obstacle course and more — at a free kids zone until 6 p.m.

Over 20 food trucks will be attending the event, and a beer tent will be available for visitors 21 and older.
