Motorcyclist hospitalized after being ejected, hit by second car

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a serious crash Saturday night in Grand Rapids Township, state police say.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Fulton Street E and Crahen Avenue NE around 10:50 p.m. A 38-year-old male motorcyclist was driving westbound on Fulton Street “at a high rate of speed” when he entered the intersection at a green light, MSP said in a statement. At the same time, a car turned onto Crahen Avenue and entered the motorcyclist’s path. The motorcycle crashed into the back of the car, ejecting its operator.

The motorcyclist landed in the eastbound lanes of Fulton Street where he was then hit by a second vehicle. He sustained life-threatening injuries, MSP said. The second vehicle did not stay at the scene, investigators said, but they believe it may have been a Tesla. Police are searching for the car and its driver…
