GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A group of West Michigan residents rallied together Tuesday in protest of the hyperscale data center projects proposed for Solon, Lowell and Gaines townships.
About a dozen people protested outside The Right Place’s fifth annual Developer Day event at the former Klingman’s department store at 1001 28th St. SW in Wyoming, a suburb of Grand Rapids.
“These are the faces of the communities where you are bringing in big tech, large corporations, things that will jeopardize our public health and our finite water,” Betsy Lopez-Wagner of Lowell Township said. “We’re small-but-mighty today, but we’ve got a lot of heart and soul present.”…
