BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A fire at a Byron Center church proved challenging for firefighters Monday morning, as crews from six departments were called in to help put it out.
Around 3:40 a.m., a passerby called to report that Byron Center Bible Church on Byron Center Avenue near Conifer Ridge Drive SW was on fire. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming through the roof and called for backup from Wyoming and Gaines Township, according to Byron Township Fire Chief Bryan Looman.
