‘Bittersweet’: Bro’s Doughs in Grand Rapids up for sale

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Specialty doughnut shop Bro’s Doughs in Grand Rapids is for sale.

Bro’s Doughs first opened along the Beltline near Knapp Street around four years ago, before expanding in 2023 with a second location next to the Starbucks on Fuller Avenue near I-196 . It offers made-to-order mini-doughnuts with toppings like apple crisp and maple bacon.

The listing for the business advertises a “highly profitable” business with high margins and repeat customers. But the owners, Brodie and Meghan Hock, are ready to pursue other interests and spend more time with their kids.

“There’s not enough time to do everything we want to do,” the owners shared in an email with News 8. “Our kids are young and we’re hoping to be able to follow through on those other interests and spend more time with family and our church.”

They say the decision is “bittersweet,” but they’re excited for what’s next for both the business and their family.
