Deputies: 2 arrested for using fake docs to buy Corvette

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say two people were arrested for using fake documents when purchasing a 2024 Corvette.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said Kool Chevrolet contacted it over the weekend after suspicious activity during the sale of a 2024 C8 Corvette.

According to the sheriff’s office, Ingre Valerino, 47, of Florida, and Brian Dykema, 46, of Grand Rapids, tried to buy the Corvette with fake documents. Both were arrested on charges of false pretenses between $50,000 and $100,000, using a forged state identification card to commit a felony and identity theft.

The sheriff’s office thanked Kool Chevrolet for the help that led to the arrests.

The case remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office’s Investigative Unit.
