Georgetown Township buys land for future fire station expansion, water system upgrades

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – Georgetown Township is acquiring more property to accommodate future plans to expand its fire department and upgrade its water infrastructure.

The township board recently approved two property acquisitions, with plans to initially lease both parcels back to their current owners while saving funds for the eventual construction and expansion projects.

The first property, approved by the board on March 23 for $225,000, will eventually allow for the expansion of Fire Station 2 to accommodate the township’s growing fire department, which recently hired new full-time firefighters to take over medical response calls, Superintendent Justin Stadt said…
