GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Public Schools is set to debut its first electric school buses this week in partnership with Dean Transportation.
The milestone was made possible through a $5.2 million grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and a $1.5 million grant from the State of Michigan.
Charging infrastructure has been installed to support 15 electric buses. The first seven buses are ready to start transporting GRPS students, and an additional eight buses are expected to arrive soon…
