GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A Kenwood man serving life in prison for fatally shooting an apparent friend will get a new trial after an appeals court found judicial error.
Marquis Thomas was sentenced in May 2023 to life in prison for the 2021 shooting of 35-year-old Michael Wright, whose body was found in a car in the 4100 block of Alpenhorn Drive NWon Dec. 1, 2021.
