Man convicted of second-degree murder in Grand Rapids stabbing case

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A man accused of stabbing a woman 25 times with a butcher knife, eventually killing her has been found guilty of second-degree murder by a Kent County jury.

Michael Anthony Rose, 61, was found guilty of second-degree murder for stabbing Lavonia Lucille Parham, 54, near the Grand Rapids Senior Neighbors Center on South Division Avenue on Nov. 6, 2024.
