‘Malicious software’ used by Kentwood student disrupted Wi-Fi, district says

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating after Kentwood Public Schools says its Wi-Fi connectivity was disrupted because of a student using “malicious software.”

The district was experiencing Wi-Fi issues throughout its schools and outside experts helped them isolate and resolve the issue, which KPS said was caused by a student “using malicious software designed to disrupt the system.”

Police are investigating and interviewing everyone involved, KPS said. It’s not clear what malicious software was used…
