Maintenance work on McKay Tower to cause temporary road closures in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Maintenance on the historic McKay Tower will cause road closures in downtown Grand Rapids in the coming weeks.

The tower will be undergoing scheduled exterior inspection and maintenance beginning Monday at 9 a.m. This will cause Monroe Center between Monroe and Ottawa avenues to be closed until 5 p.m. From Tuesday, May 19 through Friday, May 22, the same block will be closed 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.

Pearl Street NW between Monroe and Ottawa will be closed Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29 and again Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5, also from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m…
