Pair charged in ‘soccer kick’ assault outside Grand Rapids bar

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An assault at the Twisted Bull Saloon in Grand Rapids that sent a man to the ground, unconscious, before he was “soccer kicked” in the head now has two men facing charges.

The victim was hospitalized for several days with a brain bleed following the April 18 attack.  He was kicked while unconscious on the ground, records show.

Angel Gustavo Galvan Flores, 25, and Jaziel Reyes Roman, 26, are each charged with assault with intent to commit great bodily harm, a 10-year felony. Both are expected in court in upcoming weeks for a probable cause conference. They are free on bond after being arraigned May 12.
