GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – In a food drive that began on September 11, students at one Green Bay school gathered over 5,000 boxes of mac and cheese to be donated.
Local Five was at the Aldo Leopold School Friday morning for a day dedicated to helping others and helping the community through the school-wide food drive ‘Macs of Kindness: Reaching New Heights Through Service.’
New community pantry opens in Appleton
With an initial goal of collecting enough boxes to go around the block of the school, students gathered over 5,000 boxes of mac and cheese in just one week, leaving the teachers blown away by their generosity.
Just how kind and generous and some of them wrote notes for the boxes, some encouragement, like you matter. It’s just so good to see them thinking outside themselves.

Kennedy added that the over 5,000 boxes of mac and cheese were more than double the initial goal. Local Five was told the students will now receive a special celebration from the school for their impressive work…
