A year after the firm Wausau is eyeing for a campus police study panned Green Bay’s newspaper-building plan, Green Bay still has not settled on a new police headquarters.
FGM Architects found that a renovated former Green Bay Press-Gazette building would leave that city’s police department short on space, parking and security, and too far from the municipal court, the Press-Gazette reported Sept. 21, citing the firm’s Aug. 15, 2025, final report. Green Bay had already bought the 1924 building for $3.6 million.
The same firm has quoted Wausau $25,000 for a needs assessment and renovation estimate on North/South Hall. Wausau police would move into that building under a proposal to take over the former UW-Stevens Point at Wausau campus from Marathon County…
