Near record highs for the weekend!

The latest northeast Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5…

Another cool morning ahead of us with a mild afternoon to follow! Once again, areas north of Green Bay are experiencing a frost or even a freeze with a few areas that have dropped down into the 30s. Later this afternoon, our highs will be a little above normal in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees, and a bit cooler by the lake around 63 degrees.

Friday evening, a few communities may encounter a brief, light shower or sprinkle as a warm front lifts over the state. This is not going to be an appreciable rainfall, and some may not even get rain. If you have plans to be outside such as a Friday night football game, you will not need an umbrella or rain jacket.

That warm front will be responsible for a big warm up this weekend! Highs are expected to be in the upper 70s and lower 80s both weekend days, and that is close to record levels. Saturday’s record high might be in jeopardy, which is 82 degrees from 1938. Sunday’s current record in Green Bay is 83 degrees from 2004, and this one may stay in the record books…
