ASHWAUBENON – When Julio Herrera opened Los Magueyes in 2006 in Ashwaubenon, he had no idea that roughly 20 years later it would expand into six locations and another on the way.
Green Bay Press-Gazette reader Romeo Raabe described Los Magueyes as his neighborhood go-to, expressing his love for his favorite dish, the California burrito.
Raabe was among one of the first Green Bay Press-Gazette readers to respond to a request for readers’ Best Bites in the Appleton and Green Bay areas. Every two weeks, we’ll highlight another eatery or dish readers say is worthy of praise. To submit your Best Bites, contact us at the information listed below.
Herrera said the consistency in great customer service, homemade recipes and authentic Mexican cuisine and atmosphere across all locations is why customers continue to choose Los Magueyes as their favorite place to eat.
The continued success of the chain of restaurants brings more developments and locations for Los Magueyes, which is now expanding out of the Green Bay area.
