Sinkhole opens on Suamico road as flooding damages infrastructure

SUAMICO, Wis. (WBAY) – A sinkhole opened on a road near the Suamico River following record flooding that began Monday night, damaging roads, bridges and culverts in Brown County.

The sinkhole formed near a small bridge over the Suamico River. A power pole is collapsing into the hole, with wires and tree roots visible inside. The hole has consumed a portion of the roadway.
