Wake Forest lands 2027 quarterback Smith Stringer

Wake Forest finds themselves back up to two quarterbacks in the 2027 class after Presbyterian Christian School (MS) quarterback Smith Stringer announced his commitment to the Demon Deacons this evening.

Wake moved swiftly on Stringer in early May, coming to watch him throw and immediately offering the signal-caller afterwards. “It’s a different level of football,” explained Stringer about the offer. ” It’s huge. It’s just awesome to get a P4 offer and get that going on a different level. I’m just really thankful for it.”

Standing 6-foot-6.5, 180 pounds, he had a wonderful junior campaign that saw him complete 60.5% of his passes for 2,783 yards, 37 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Arkansas State, East Carolina, North Texas, Toledo, and UConn all offered him, and Lincoln Riley at USC sent his quarterbacks coach to go watch him, but the official visit and push from Dan Enos and Rob Ezell was too much for other schools to overcome…
