GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Officials are celebrating a major milestone at what will be Guilford County Schools’ newest elementary school.
School officials, students, county and city officials will come out on Wednesday to conduct a “topping out” ceremony at the in-progress Sternberger Elementary School, where officials will sign the last steel beam of the building’s framework before it is raised and put in place.
Greensboro passes $910 million budget
Ground broke on the new school in December 2025.
The project designers, Clark Nexsen, say that the school will hold around 500 students and the building will be a little under 87,000 square feet. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027…
