Expect a hot, muggy Thursday in the Piedmont Triad

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — For Thursday and Friday, we will watch the humidity and the remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur.

Thursday will be a hot, muggy, and breezy day. Under a mix of sun and clouds, our morning temperatures will be in the lower 70s with highs in the low to mid-90s. Factor in the humidity, our feels like temperature, or heat index, will be around 100 degrees. So, slow down, stay hydrated and look for shade if you are working or playing outside tomorrow. With daytime heating and an incoming cold front, a few afternoon and evening thunderstorms are possible.  A few severe storms could produce damaging wind gusts. Chance of rain 30%.

Tropical Storm Arthur will leave Texas behind and travel across the southern United States on Thursday and Friday.  Early Friday morning, our cold front, plus the leftovers of Arthur, will be in the Piedmont.  Rain is likely early Friday with morning temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s.  Friday afternoon, partly sunny with an isolated shower or thunderstorm possible.  Highs on Friday will be in the upper 80s. Chance of rain 50%. Again, our best rain chance appears to be early Friday morning…
