Piedmont Triad cities deal with ongoing drought

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Ongoing drought conditions have some Piedmont Triad cities adjusting summer plans and asking residents to reduce their water usage, hoping for rain to replenish water sources.

The City of Graham cancelled its Slice of Summer water festival and is encouraging residents to take water-saving measures. Leaders say amid the drought, they are closely monitoring the Graham-Mebane lake levels and scaling back city water use.

Lake Levels Down

Graham-Mebane Lake levels are down more than a foot. The lake is a water source for many surrounding towns, so they are watching water usage closely right now.
