WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem City Council voted Monday to approve a youth curfew ordinance, giving final passage to a measure that will ban minors from public spaces late at night.
The council passed the Youth Protection and Safety Ordinance on a 5-3 vote at a special session. The ordinance takes effect immediately.
Under the measure, anyone under 18 is prohibited from being in public spaces between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., seven days a week. The curfew is set to run as a pilot program through Oct. 12, 2026…
