(WGHP) — Scattered showers and storms remain possible this evening in the Piedmont Triad.
Storm motion this evening is east to west, with showers rotating counterclockwise around a low-pressure system centered to our southwest (over northern Georgia). Those who see rain could see slow-moving, heavy downpours which, over an extended period of time, could pose a flash flooding threat. Isolated flash flooding remains possible through the remainder of the workweek, as there is very little atmospheric movement to steer storms. A few strong to severe storms are possible further west with damaging winds as the primary threat.
Moisture continues to stick around, which keeps rain chances in the forecast. It won’t rain all day, and not everyone will see rain, but with the abundance of moisture and our summertime set up the rest of the week, isolated to scattered showers and storms will be possible each afternoon, mainly between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. It’s a good idea to keep the rain gear with you and keep an eye on the radar before you head out…
