RANDLEMAN, N.C. (WCHS) — A Cabell County racetrack will present NASCAR’s most accomplished driver with a plaque celebrating one of his wins at the track.
Ona Speedway will present the plaque to Richard Petty, known by fans as “The King,” in a private ceremony Tuesday morning, according to a release from Ona Speedway.
Petty earned 200 career NASCAR Cup Series victories across his illustrious career, which spanned from 1958-1992. In that time, Ona hosted four NASCAR Cup Series races in 1963, 1964, 1970 and 1971, dubbed the West Virginia 300, with Petty winning the last three races (the inaugural race was won by Fred Lorenzen)…
