LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A hard-fought loss on Sunday night ended a “legendary” winning streak for the Lexington Legends, which surpassed the record set by the team’s first-ever lineup.
The Legends announced in an Aug. 30 news release that the team had achieved a 12-game “franchise record” winning streak before falling 12-9 to the High Point Rockers on North Carolina turf.

Despite an early lead at Truist Point, High Point took control in the fifth inning. Lexington tried to recover from an 11-4 deficit but ultimately couldn’t make the comeback.
“The loss snapped Lexington’s franchise-record 12-game winning streak, which surpassed the previous club mark set by the inaugural 2001 Legends team,” officials with the Lexington Legends said. “Despite the loss, Lexington remains firmly in control of the Atlantic League South Division race. The Legends are now 59-55 overall and 33-18 in the second half, holding a 4.5-game lead in first place as the postseason race continues to heat up.”
