Cold front moving into Triad will likely bring showers Saturday

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A nice but warm evening in the Piedmont Triad with temperatures in the upper 70s by 8 p.m. An approaching cold front and low-pressure system will bring increasing cloud cover overnight, with mostly cloudy skies by daybreak on Saturday followed by increasing rain chances through the weekend.

Temperatures will be in the upper 60s on Saturday morning, and it’ll likely feel a little muggy out (especially compared to the past several mornings). Temperatures will try to reach the mid-70s before scattered showers move in. Scattered showers are more likely after lunchtime on Saturday, but it’ll be off and on, with not everyone seeing rainfall. The chance for rain Saturday is 40%.

Rain chances continue to increase late Saturday into Sunday, bringing rounds of widespread rainfall. The first half of the day Sunday looks to be a near-washout, with rain tapering off through the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures won’t move a whole lot on Sunday, with morning temps in the upper 50s and low 60s and afternoon highs reaching the mid-60s. The chance for rain is 80%.
