Utilities serving 750,000 water users in southeastern North Carolina are siding with state environmental regulators in a dispute at the state’s second-highest court.
The Fayetteville Public Works Commission, Cape Fear Public Utility Authority, Brunswick County, and Lower Cape Fear Water and Sewer Authority filed paperwork Monday to submit a friend-of-the-court brief in a case that pits the Department of Environmental Quality against Asheboro, Greensboro, and Reidsville.
