Greensboro woman wins $200,000 after buying scratch-off at gas station: ‘About passed out’

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Nicole Hodges, of Greensboro, bought a $5 scratch-off for the first time on Wednesday and won the first $200,000 top prize in a new lottery game, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

“I’ve never bought a $5 ticket, but I just randomly picked it because it was new, and it was pretty,” Hodges laughed. “And look what $5 turned into.”
