OAK RIDGE, N.C. (WGHP) – Hannah Koontz shares her journey through motherhood as she competes in the national Super Mom competition.
The competition celebrates mothers while raising money for the Children’s Network Hospitals. The winner will receive a $20,000 prize, a vacation, and a feature in a magazine.
Koontz has an eight-month-old son who celebrates his birthday in August. She said her motherhood journey was not easy after losing her own mother at 12 years old.

“We were in a car accident coming back from a hockey tournament late at night, and my mom fell asleep driving,” Koontz said. “The car caught on fire from the gas tank leaking, and it kind of just sparked and exploded the van.”…
