Guilford County EMS will soon carry blood to trauma scenes. Here’s how it could save lives

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Guilford County EMS is bringing a hospital resource straight to trauma scenes.

Starting next week, two EMS supervisor units will carry whole blood in the field for some of the county’s most critical trauma calls. County leaders said Guilford County will become the first urban EMS system in North Carolina to carry blood on its trucks.
