THOMASVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — A South Carolina man has been charged in a sex crimes investigation involving a juvenile, according to the Thomasville Police Department.
On May 6, a school resource officer with the TPD received information regarding an inappropriate relationship between an adult male and a juvenile female.

During the investigation, it was found that Sean Patrick McDonald, 31, of Loris, S.C., traveled to Thomasville multiple times to meet with the juvenile.
On May 15, McDonald was taken into custody by the Horry County Police Department and charged with the following:
- Statutory rape of a child 15 years of age or younger
- Two counts of statutory sex offense
- Solicitation of a minor by a computer
He waived extradition and will be transferred to face charges in Davidson County.
