Three arrested; allegedly used deceased man’s credit cards

Authorities in Laurens County say three people are facing charges after allegedly using the credit cards of a man who died in a semi-truck crash on I-26. Investigators say the driver was killed June 3, 2026.

The next day, his wife reported unauthorized purchases in Laurens and Greenwood counties. A search warrant executed Friday, June 5, 2026 in Waterloo led to the arrests of Samuel Roberts and Jordan Williams. Joshua Putman was arrested later with help from another agency. The suspects face charges including financial transaction card theft, fraud, and criminal conspiracy.
