Firefighters share lithium battery safety tips after Upstate warehouse fire

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) — Firefighters are sounding the alarm over the potential dangers of lithium-ion batteries, after crews battled a fire that they said was sparked by multiple overheated batteries.

On Saturday, the North Spartanburg Fire District reported a fire at a warehouse that stored lithium batteries from a cell tower.

Fire Marshal Daryl Workman said when crews first arrived, they found multiple battery packs sitting on pallets ablaze, exploding like fireworks…
