A Spartanburg police K‑9 is expected to recover after being cut with a box cutter by a suspect who fled a domestic violence call and led officers on multiple pursuits, authorities said.
According to a release by the Spartanburg Police Department, K-9 Bruno was cut on the top of his head with a box cutter by a person of interest after officers responded to a domestic abuse scene. Spartanburg police responded to a domestic violence call around 2:30 p.m. on June 10, but the male in question fled the scene in a white pickup truck before officers arrived.
Police later located the vehicle in the Cedar Springs area and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop and led officers on a pursuit into Spartanburg County toward Keltner Avenue. Authorities said the suspect fled from law enforcement twice during the incident…
