The City of Spartanburg has announced its schedule for the annual Juneteenth Celebration Festival, with a week-long series of community events culminating in a major celebration at Barnet Park on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The festival will be free and open to the public from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Juneteenth, which commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, is honored in Spartanburg with events celebrating African American history, culture, and progress. The Saturday festival at Barnet Park will feature live music performances, food trucks, family-friendly activities, and an interactive children’s area. A key highlight of the festival is a community marketplace showcasing local Black-owned businesses, artisans, and non-profit organizations.
In addition to the main festival, the City of Spartanburg is coordinating other events throughout the week. This includes a Juneteenth Block Party scheduled for Friday, June 19, which will feature local DJs, street food, and community dancing.
