Greenville County Council approves transportation sales tax referendum for November ballot

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Greenville County Council gave final approval Tuesday to place a 1% transportation sales tax referendum before voters this November after hours of debate over how the revenue would be divided.

Council members considered several amendments, including a proposal to increase mass transits’ share of the revenue from 3% to 5%.
