GREENVILLE, SC — Dangerous heat and afternoon thunderstorms are expected to bring a rough stretch of weather to the Upstate of South Carolina on Sunday, along with parts of western North Carolina and northeast Georgia. Forecasters say feels-like temperatures could climb to 105 degrees east of the mountains, raising the risk for heat-related illness for people spending time outdoors.
Any storm that forms could turn strong quickly, with damaging wind gusts, locally heavy rain and small hail all possible. Officials are urging residents to keep an eye on changing conditions through the day, especially as storms build during the afternoon and evening.
