PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said a man has been charged after leading multiple agencies on a chase in a stolen vehicle.
Officials said Easley police officers identified a stolen vehicle in their jurisdiction on July 28 and a pursuit began. The suspect, Tracy Bryan Shirah, tried to hit multiple officers.
The chase then crossed into Pickens County and deputies worked with Easley police to deploy stop sticks to safely bring the vehicle to a halt, officials said.
Deputies said Shirah was charged with the following:
- Driving under suspension (DUI related) – second defense
- Failure to stop for blue light
- Habitual traffic offender
- Hit and run (hitting fixtures on or adjacent to highway)
- Possession of a stolen vehicle
- Resisting arrest with a deadly weapon.
