The City of Fountain Inn was recently recognized by SafeWise as the fifth safest city in South Carolina for 2026.
SafeWise is a security research agency that uses FBI-reported crime data to rank cities in each state based on safety. This year, Fountain Inn was ranked fifth in South Carolina — jumping up 10 spots from 2025.
“This recognition is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the men and women of the Fountain Inn Police Department, but it is also a reflection of the strong partnership we have with our community,” said Fountain Inn Police Chief Patrick Fortenberry. “Our officers work every day to prevent crime, respond to the needs of our residents and build relationships that help make Fountain Inn a safe place to live, work and raise a family.”…
