LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas Metro police officer was laid to rest over the weekend in his hometown of Greer, South Carolina, weeks after he was shot and killed while on the job.
“Officer Austin Zade Abdelnabi was surrounded by family and friends along with fellow Marines, law enforcement officers, and a community that came together to honor his life and sacrifice,” according to a post on LVMPD’s X account.

Abdelnabi was shot and killed by a gunman on Aug. 4 after he responded to a 911 call of an armed man acting erratically, waving a gun near an east Las Vegas valley intersection.
Members of the LVMPD Honor Guard also traveled to South Carolina to stand alongside Officer Abdelnabi’s family and assist in honoring him.
