GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A cold front sweeps across the Western Carolinas today, triggering scattered showers and a few thunderstorms, but don’t expect much rain. The system moves through quickly, clearing by evening and opening the door to quieter pattern for most of the week.

Today through Wednesday: A couple small rain chances

Showers and thunderstorms develop this afternoon, particularly after 1 p.m., as the cold front arrives from the north. Light and scattered showers and storms move in from the north and drop down south throughout the afternoon.

Rainfall totals stay minimal across the region, though any thunderstorm that develops could produce slightly higher totals. Highs are in the mid to upper 70s.
