SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A retired Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office K9 has passed away, according to officials.
Bailey was named after Trooper David T. Bailey, who died in a vehicle collision in Greenville County in 2000, and donated to the sheriff’s office his family, officials said.
Deputies report he served from 2013 to 2020 and worked alongside Deputy Michael Turner and Lieutenant Tim Amsler. He was a favorite in the community, known for his gentle temperament and calm presence, and was often asked for school visits and public events by name.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said, “K9 Bailey’s service went far beyond his duties. His loyalty, steady presence, and unconditional love left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His legacy will continue to be felt across our agency and throughout the community he served so faithfully. Rest easy, K9 Bailey.”…
