Weiner takes it all: Pa. locals compete in Hersheypark hot dog eating contest

Twelve contestants. Ten minutes. And as many hot dogs as they can stuff down their gobs.

Hersheypark hosted the Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog-Eating Contest qualifier near its waterpark Friday.

Following a hot dog-themed parody of Chappell Roan’s “Hot to go” sung by the You-Tube famous Hot Dog Harv, 12 contestants took the stage to test their frankfurter-eating mettle.

George Chiger, of Pocono Pines, won the men’s category after consuming 25.5 hot dogs, while Larell Marie Mele, of Long Pond — Chiger’s mentor in eating sports — won the women’s category at 12.25 hot dogs…
