New Details Released In Large Lebanon City Fire

Authorities in Lebanon City, Pennsylvania, have released new details about a significant fire that displaced over a dozen people last week. The blaze, which occurred on Tuesday (June 16), began at 736 Cumberland Street before spreading to an adjacent apartment building at 734 Cumberland Street. This building also housed the Downtown Lounge Bar and Restaurant, recently renamed the Downtown Taphouse.

The fire, reported around 9:11 a.m., escalated to a three-alarm status, prompting a response from over two dozen agencies. According to Lebanon Mayor Sherry Capello, firefighters used trench ventilation techniques to prevent the fire from spreading further, thus protecting other structures in the downtown business district. “Firefighters performed exceptionally well in containing the blaze and protecting neighboring structures,” Capello stated in a press release.
