Man arrested in connection with York County hit-and-run that seriously injured pedestrian

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Carroll Township Police Department arrested a man wanted in connection with a June 10 hit-and-run that left one pedestrian seriously injured, the department announced.

Terry Gettys, 34, was found and arrested without incident thanks to a tip from a citizen. On June 11, a warrant for his arrest was issued on the following charges:

  • Aggravated assault by motor vehicle
  • Accidents involving death or personal injury
  • Accidents involving death or injury while not licensed
  • Failure to stop and render air or give information
  • Failure to notify police of accident injury or death
  • Driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked

On June 10, Carroll Township police were called to the 100 block of Mountain Road, where a pedestrian was found lying in the road, screaming in pain, with a “noticeably broken arm.”
