Central Pennsylvania geologist voices concerns for those living in former mining district

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A central Pennsylvania man has a warning for people who might be living or planning to live in a former mining district.

Geologist Jerri Jones made a map of the Dillsburg Mine District in York County. He said there used to be 13 mines in the area, and they produced iron from 1828 until about 1915.
