County commissioner who dodged DUI conviction, again, wants his record to disappear

Dauphin County Commissioner George Hartwick crashed county-owned vehicles at least four times, damaged the county parking garage twice, and has been charged with DUI twice.

In his most recent case, Hartwick told police he drank half a bottle of vodka before he crashed his county-owned vehicle and attended the 10 a.m. April 2, 2025 public meeting while slurring his words. Police later charged him with DUI.

A visiting judge dismissed the charge against Hartwick on April 6, 2026, after he completed a six-month diversionary court program. Now, Hartwick is asking the courts to cut off public access to his most recent criminal case file…
