YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Neighboring residents were able to help direct crews through York County woods to rescue a person injured in an ATV crash Friday.

The ATV rider somehow got trapped under the vehicle on a trail in a wooded area off Forge Hill Road in East Manchester Township, a Facebook post from Eagle Fire Company #1 reads.

After getting to the patient, who was awake and alert, crews were able to free them and get them out of the woods and to an ambulance, the post reads.

The fire company expressed gratitude for the residents who were familiar with the area and used their own UTVs to help move rescue equipment and rescuers themselves to the scene of the crash.
