5-Year-Old Child Dies and Woman Is Injured in Perry County ATV Crash Thursday Morning

CARROLL TOWNSHIP, PA — A 5-year-old girl died and a 37-year-old woman was flown to the hospital after an ATV crash in Perry County on Thursday morning, state police said.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. at 1354 Pisgah State Road in Carroll Township. Pennsylvania State Police said three people were involved: one juvenile died, one juvenile was not hurt, and one adult was injured.

Neighbors say the child was a girl

People who live nearby told WGAL the child who died was a girl. They also said the injured adult was the child’s mother.

Neighbor Erin Fitzpatrick said the scene was especially upsetting because it happened so early in the day. “I couldn’t imagine what they’re going through right now,” she said.

Police kept the area closed for hours

After the crash, police and emergency crews stayed at the scene for more than three hours. By about 12:45 p.m., the area had been cleared and police tape was left across the driveway where the crash happened…
